Mock Trial

Participating in Mock Trial provides a working knowledge of our judicial system; develops communication skills, analytical ability, and self-confidence; and promotes cooperation among students of various cultures and interests. Teamwork is crucial to success, and Nova’s Mock Trial program contributes powerfully to building community and school spirit. It is also an engaging and enriching experience that is perfectly attuned to the values and virtues embodied in a classical school such as Nova Classical Academy.

Typically practices are held two or three days each week, from about 5:00-7:00, and a three hour practice on Saturdays from 9:00-12:00. However, the practice schedule is always determined by student availability and commitment.

Interested in volunteering? Ideal volunteer coaches from the community are people with experience or interest in law, public speaking, textual analysis, or rhetoric. If you know of anyone who would like to help work two or three times a week with thoughtful, engaged students, please ask them to get in touch with coach Jeff Magnuson at jmagnuson@novaclassical.org
