Session: Winter session beginning November 20, 2025. Ending Saturday, February 28, 2026

Description: Join our team as we prepare to compete in the Minnesota Science Olympiad Middle School Competition. The Science Olympiad is run like a track meet where teammates will each compete in a few of the science or engineering events with another team member. The events are a mix of 20 challenges —some involve hands-on building (think helicopters or Rube Goldberg machines), others are knowledge-based (like anatomy, geology, or coding), and some focus on teamwork (like technical writing). (Full list of this year’s events)

 

During our Thursday meetings, we will plan which teammates will compete in each of the events, connect students with resources to prepare for their events, and help foster a love of science! Coaches will help students prepare for the competition but family support is strongly encouraged throughout and required on the competition days. Every student must have a parent/guardian on site for the regional competition on 2/7 @ Mounds View High and state competition 2/28 at Bethel University. Check out the club website here.
